The Bay Area isn’t just where Windsurf was founded, it’s the heart of who we are. Co-founders, Varun Mohan and Douglas Chen grew up in the South Bay and returned to build Windsurf, inspired by the roots and the community that shaped them. Now headquartered in Silicon Valley, we’re proud to be part of a community that has always led the way in innovation. 

Our flagship product, the Windsurf Editor, is the first agentic IDE, an AI coding tool that empowers anyone, from experienced developer to vibe coder, to build bigger, better, andfaster. Our mission is simple: help everyone (individuals, teams, enterprise) dream bigger. We want to make great tech more accessible, so even more people can create and innovate. 

This year, we’re thrilled to sponsor Bay to Breakers - a race as iconic and bold as the city itself, and one that's been part of our team’s story long before Windsurf existed. Many of our founding members, Varun included, were running B2B well before they were building B2B SaaS!
